Hazelwood v. Kuhmeier

Well I liked the game, valid points seemed to work better then thoughts. My game was over by the end of the second round, I wish it had gone longer. Not really sure how that was suppose to help me with censorship, but it was fun so oh well.

Front Page of NYT

.      Which items had the largest headlines?  Why? The most prominent stories that everyone will want to know.

2.     Which items had the smallest headlines?  Why? Not major stories, They aren't as prominent as the other stories.

3.     Which stories had photos?  Why? The major news stories and human interest stories, because people like visuals and can persuade someone to read the story.

4.     Consider the placement of the articles.  Does the position of a story (above or below the fold) affect the reader’s response to it?  Why? Above the fold is more nationals and international stories that are very prominent. Below the fold aren't as major of a story.

5.     What other information does the front page include in addition to major news reports?  How does this extra information affect the reader’s attention? Gives a preview of other info in the paper. It could distract the reader from the main stories, but it is small to not be a distraction.

6.     How many stories are on the front page? sixteen

7.     How many stories are local? 2     National?   8     International? 6

8.     What do you find appealing about this front page?  What would you like to change? Like- the flag, The one main big picture.
